Please note that Quebec's winter can be almost arctic. To get the most out of your experience, you need to be dressed warmly (tuque, scarf, mittens, thermal underwear, boots, parkas, etc). If you come from a warmer climate (lucky you!), and you do not possess the necessary outerwear, let us know! We have everything on hand and articles can be rented for a small surcharge. Please let us know in advance.
We start our journey on foot in this afternoon tour, making our way up to the top of the Mont-Royal where ice-skating or snowshoeing at Beaver Lake awaits. Then, after a warm stop for a coffee at the Smith House & Museum, we head to the Kondiaronk Lookout for a breathtaking view of Downtown Montreal and the St. Lawrence River. As we go, we learn about the development of the city, and what makes Mont-Royal such an important part of Montreal's history and identity. Our gradual descent takes us down through quiet forest paths, where it’s blissfully easy to forget you are still in the middle of a city of four million inhabitants!
Fitz and Follwell is proud to work in close collaboration with les Amis de la montagne, a charitable organization that aims to protect and enhance Mount Royal through community involvement and environmental education.
